Default If the only byproduct of hydrogen powered cars is water...

If the only emission from hydrogen powered cars is water and all cars were hydrogen or at least a significant number of them were hydrogen, won't this mean that the streets will always be wet? This would create a permanent change for people who ride two wheeled vehicles. And in cold areas, won't this mean that the streets will be covered in ice even in sunny weather? I suppose the water could be routed to a holding tank in the car but I have no idea if it would be practical or how much water is produced.

I'm pretty sure it comes out as steam, so that should not be an issue at all.

I put a hydrogen system in my 1988 Chevy pickup, so far so good the tail pipe is a little wet on the inside, not a lot of steam either. I have not used it long enough to figure out if my exhaust system will prematurely rust out. I will opt for an aluminum exhaust when it does. Are there any others that have anything that they would share stories about adapting a Hydro system in the cars or truck? I would say that the gas mileage has improved quite a bit, can't give you any numbers just yet.

I have yet to hear about a conversion kit for hydrogen. Where did you buy it? Have a link to the company? Thanks.

edit: Oh yeah, where are you finding hydrogen?

The hydrogen system I bought was on ebay, it only was two bottles. Dual Hydrogen Generator HHO Fuel Cell Kit Water4gas : eBay Motors (item 280489777005 end time Apr-07-10 20:17:32 PDT). There are many other kits available, I guess I'm all alone on this one.

That isn't a conversion kit. A conversion kit makes your car use hydrogen as it's fuel source. That is using hydrogen as a supplement to gasoline, to improve the gas mileage. Great idea, just not a "conversion". Where in your vehicle do you have these glass beakers mounted, BTW?

edit: And Hydro is right, it comes out mostly as steam. I say mostly because the steam condenses on the exhaust, so there is some that trickles out as hot water in addition to the steam.

I thought by now some one other than myocardia would have made a pro or con statement's concerning the use of hydrogen in my 88 Chevy pickup. This is a forum of alternate and new ways of utilizing different more efficient forms of energy. Yet there is no sign of life in this regard. I hope others will respond with similar or different takes on this form of energy.

Hydrogen would be pretty cool, but I think this thread kinda turned into whether you actually have a hydrogen system or not. I think this is some kinda breakdown in communication. What myocardia is saying is that you don't have a hydrogen engine (myocardia, please corrrect me if I'm wrong) and I would agree as I'm pretty sure you can't get them on Ebay, and even if you could it would be an entire engine and would cost upwards of half a million dollars.

I think I know what you have, but could you provide a link or maybe some photos of your system? I have seen videos for something similar, where you supplement up to roughly 40% of your gas with water which is stored in glass beakers under the hood somewhere. Is this correct? Any links possibly? They always help with discussions.

If that is what your saying, it is pretty amazing, it's like having a hybrid basically, except you don't have to buy a brand new car. Good on you man. Did you do the install yourself, was it very difficult?

I have not had time to effectively give any real mpg improvements as of now, yet there seems to be a significant increase in power. From a standing start the engine responds smoother and I notice a difference in mpg. Nothing radical but I'm guessing about a 10 to 15% improvement in mpg overall. When I get to use it extensively I will give you the results. This is the item I bought on ebay..http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Dual-...Q5fAccessories
