Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. offers atmospheric gases, process and specialty gases, performance materials, and equipment and services worldwide. The companys Merchant Gases segment sells industrial gases, such as oxygen, nitrogen, and argon; hydrogen and helium; and certain medical and specialty gases for metal, glass, chemical, food, medical, steel, general manufacturing, and petroleum and natural gas industries, as well as offers respiratory therapies, home medical equipment, and infusion services. The companys Electronics and Performance Materials segment offers specialty gases, such as nitrogen trifluoride, silane, arsine, phosphine, white ammonia, silicon tetrafluoride, carbon tetrafluoride, hexafluoromethane, critical etch gases, and tungsten hexafluoride, as well as tonnage gases, specialty chemicals, and services and equipment for the manufacture of silicon and compound semiconductors, thin film transistor liquid crystal displays, and photovoltaic devices. This segment also provides performance chemical solutions for the coatings, inks, adhesives, civil engineering, personal care, institutional and industrial cleaning, mining, oil field, and polyurethane industries. Its Equipment and Energy segment manufactures cryogenic and gas processing equipment for air separation, hydrocarbon recovery and purification, natural gas liquefaction, and helium distribution, as well as offers plant design, engineering, procurement, and construction management services for the chemical and petrochemical manufacturing, oil and gas recovery and processing, and steel and primary metals processing industries. The company was founded in 1940 and is headquartered in Trexlertown, Pennsylvania.

Air Products Supplies Nitrogen to NexPower's New PV Facility in Taiwan
LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa., Sept. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Air Products (NYSE: APD - News) today announced it has signed, through its subsidiary Air Products San Fu Co. Ltd. in Taiwan, a long-term contract to provide nitrogen to NexPower Technology Corporation (NexPower), at its new thin-film photovoltaic (PV) facility in the Central Taiwan Science Park (CTSP) in Houli, Taichung, Taiwan. Air Products is supplying nitrogen to NexPower's facility through its pipeline network in the CTSP.
