Wanted to inform everyone about how the Italian government decided to handle the excess energy produced by PV panel owners. Thanks to this progam hardly anybody here stores energy. If you need energy during the day you use what your panels produce, if you need it at night you take it from the power company. At the end of the billing period ( 2 months in Italy ) the power company calculates what you produced but did not use during the day and what you used at night. If you produced more than you "bought" you can either get cash for it or credit. Of course this means that you're still relying on the power company and still pay a monthly fee but you don't have to worry about storing energy or disposing of the accumulators. Minor setback is the fact that they charge you more x KW than what they pay you for your energy but if your system is slightly oversized you come out on top. I did it an it's working. Oh, I almost forgot, they give me 0.44 cents for every Kw my panels are capable of producing x year regardless of how much I use...just for having the panels. And that's every year for 20 years!! I don't know why poeple are still skeptic! It's ano brainer, you just have to find the money somehow but you get it all back and then some!
