Default Greetings from Arizona

I come seeking answers to my wind energy questions. I know so little about this subject that I'm not even sure If I'll be asking my questions correctly.

I've been looking to set up a small "Home Wind Generator" to power just one appliance in my home; just to get my feet wet; so to speak.

My problem is ignorance. I'm not sure where to begin. When I've inquired about such things as Wind Generators and other corresponding equipment, I've received nothing but snooty replies from sales people that seem offended that I'd waste their time with small-time purchases.

Is there anyone here that hasn't succumb to the "Know-It-All" syndrome; where they feel they have to talk down to anyone that doesn't know as much as they do?

Right now, all I want to do is set up a Wind Generator to Power a small evaporative cooler.

I don't know which Wind Generator, batteries, cables, switches, dials etc. will do it for me.

I happened to stumble onto this sight while searching for this information and I noticed a post by a fellow that had set up a type of mobile wind generator.

Seemed like a down-to-earth kind of guy. Kind of what lead me to sign up on this forum.

Little help please.
Thanks.

Click here to go to our wind power/wind turbine specific forum. We're just getting started, so we welcome all questions, I promise.

A watt saved is better than a watt generated, since it always costs less than 10% as much, and can cost as little as 1%.

V=volt, A=ampere, Ah=ampere hour, Wh= watt hour, VOC=open circuit voltage, ISC=short circuit current, VMPP=voltage @ max power, IMPP=current @ max power, BTW=by the way, your=belongs to you, you're=you are, too=in addition to, two=1+1, to=towards
