Lightbulb Solar Traffic signs/lighting

I have been noticing more and more solar powered traffic signs, signals, warning markers and street lighting here in my home town.

They are bright, easy to read and really grab your attention day or night. I imagine they are easier to install since you do not have to worry about providing power to them.

Solar road signs operate using LED (Light Emitting Diode) technology, which can ensure excellent visibility no matter what condition the weather is in. Solar lights have the capability to store energy in a battery. When the sun is up, the solar panel located on the top of the road sign charges the batteries through a solar charger. Rechargeable batteries can last for as long as two full years before requiring replacement.

Default Solar traffis signs

this is for the person who keeps deleting my post, is it you desert rat, someone locked the thread i posted this message in.

Solar traffic signs and street lights still need to be connected to the grid. The issue is that they can only go 3-6 days with minimal charging or no charging. The real solution is Solar/Wind Hybrid street lighting. This combination is self sufficient, needing no connection to the grid as a backup. Winds as low as 5 mph are enough to allow the generator to recharge the batteries and power the light at night.

This is the real solution to energy saving for cities
