Zero Street E-Motorcycle
Today at Mussleman Honda Circuit I was able to check out The Zero street Electric Motorcycle.
ZERO MOTORCYCLES ? The Electric Motorcycle Company - Official Site
It was a very nice and attractive bike. Extremely quite, awesome torque and top speed around 55-60mph. I believe the bike starts at $10,000 but there is plenty of rebates that will help lower the price.
Range on the bike is around 40-60miles depending on your speed and terrain. Charge time is around 4 hours and input is 110v or 220v.
Power system is lithium ion array 4 kWh (58volts @ 70Ah)
You may view the bike at MussleMan Honda racing Circuit (P1)

Police Department Acquires Zero Electric Motorcycle
By Jonathan Welsh
Electric-motorcycle maker Zero Motorcycles says it delivered one of its DS models to the Scotts Valley, Calif., police department — the first law enforcement agency to acquire one of the electric bikes. The move is part of a broader acceptance of electric vehicles led in part by municipal governments.
Many cities and towns have hybrid and electric cars to their fleets to help reduce fuel costs and other expenses, and to test their durability. The Scotts Valley police say they will use the electric bike for patrol, traffic duty and other assignments where maneuverability and quiet operation can give officers an advantage. Indeed, a svelte frame and lack of engine noise make the Zero DS an especially stealthy mount.

E-bikes are good in terms of fuel saving. their top speed ranges from 40 to 60 mph that is enough to ride a bike inside town. Even cops are also using these bikes it is good sign of future e-bikes.
